Welcome to Newark Carer Support Group

Welcome to our website – an information gathering and sharing facility for Carers of family members and friends suffering from mental health related illnesses.

In 2011, the Newark Carer Support Group was formed. A group primarily focusing on individuals who have found themselves caring and supporting their parents, teenagers, young-middle aged adults, siblings and close friends affected by emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This website, along with local monthly group sessions, is aimed at supporting fellow Carers on the often very difficult, emotional and traumatic journey they face.

Please browse our website at your leisure. As ordinary people dealing on the 'front line', our objective is to include lots of information that may not ordinarily be immediately available to Carers.

We hope that in some small way, locally, we can bring awareness of Mental Health issues to the fore, stamp out deep-seated stigmas and support as many Carers as we can.
